Our love for Madelinetosh has been well documented, but there is a new kid on the block and I’m falling head over heels. Arroyo is a newer Sport/DK weight yarn from Malibrigo. I have been working with it in both Prussia Blue and Coffee Toffee.
I am so insane about this color. Look at how incredible it looks knitted up!
…and the pattern I’m working on – incredible too, but more about that another day!
Arroyo is very affordable at $18/skein and you get 330 yards per skein. Something about this yarn allows me to obtain really even stitches in my knitting. I haven’t quite figured out what it is but I am so happy with the result. It doesn’t pill or get too fuzzy and I haven’t had any issues with the yarn splitting. They also have a nice assortment of colors to pick from. I picked mine up at Creative Fibers, one of my local yarn shops that I love to frequent, but if you’re not local, I highly recommend Jimmy Beans Wool. A little shout out to them. Katie and I have both been very impressed with their speedy delivery and outstanding customer service.

The coffee toffee is delicious! Love your blog-thanks for taking time to share!
I want to eat the coffee toffee…
The Prussia Blue is really pretty too. I am anxious to see what you are making with it Kara!
Lovely pictures. Arroyo looks yummy. BTW, Arroyo means water stream in Spanish.
Does the Arroyo have a shine to it when knit up? Very pretty colors!
The shine might be more pronounced in these pictures because I had a very large window with morning light shining through behind me when taking the photo. It has a slight shine but nothing too dramatic like something synthetic!
I adore Madelinetosh but it is like with having children. I adore Malabrigo just as much. They are both so beautiful.
