It’s bright. It’s cheery. It’s simple. and it’s Free! I was standing in line at the LYS this weekend when these colors caught my eye. I quick grabbed them before the cashier finished ringing up the rest of my purchases, and I cast on as soon as I got home. I’m a fan of color blocking and this idea screamed Kate Spade or Marc Jacobs to me.

I really wanted the colors to stand out on their own so I had to keep the stitch simple & what’s more simple than stockinette?

I know for some of you this is hardly needs a pattern, but I also know that there are plenty of readers who might not know where to get started. So for you, dear reader, I wrote it up real nice & purrrty for ya to download.

Also for you – the yarn to make it! I bought double the yarn I needed to make this, so I am giving it to one lucky reader. Leave a comment by end of the day today and I’ll pick a winner tomorrow!

If the idea of weaving a bunch of ends in when knitting stripes haunts you while you sleep, please watch this video. It has changed the way I think about knitting stripes. I will be using this to join in any new skeins from here on out. The knot holds tight and it works right into the knitting so it’s virtually invisible! ‘So glad I found this video prior to starting this project!
