I started the Abigail Cardi from Quince & Co this weekend. If you haven’t checked them out - I recommend you do. They have some classic patterns and beautiful yarn.
The cardi is a pretty basic, top-down (no seaming at the end) construction which I love. It’s easy but there are some “at the same time” instructions which is actually code for “Pay attention you numbskull and read ahead!“ Can you tell I’ve been burned before?
When I need to remember the “at the same time” instructions I usually mark every single row as I complete it. Otherwise I’d never keep track of where I was and what I had done so the margins and any free space on my pattern usually looks something like this
I am knitting the cardi using Malabrigo Arroyo in Prussia Blue because I have a whole bunch on hand and you probably know by now that I love Malabrigo Arroyo.
I had originally intended something entirely different for this yarn but as I knit, I felt like I was compromising on the end product. I just wasn’t feelin’ it. I realized this after knitting a mere 16″ into that project — but still better to scrap it than ignore my gut feeling and finishing something I wouldn’t have loved. I am convinced I WILL love this and it will become a staple in my closet for this fall!

Love the cardi pattern and your yarn choice– ‘Can’t wait for my Malabrigo Rasta to come tomorrow, to start a new (big!) project. And it is all your fault for teaching me how to knit… :)
The Prussia Blue will be a perfect color for fall.
Betsy you need to give her the credit not the blame! (Sorry, once a mother, always a mother!) The sweater looks really nice Kara. You got alot done since Saturday night when I saw it!
