I have been very preoccupied lately and my Knit-along projects are sitting idle. I am packing for a trip to Haiti. Packing for myself and Kevin, and also for the 3 boys who are staying home. It has been an adventure already.
I do not think I have ever gone away for a week and packed all of my clothing and food in a carry-on bag – I think I am going to pull it off though.
I am going to squeeze in my work in progress. I am knitting a Stripe Study Modification. I wanted to bring a project that was just knitting garter stitch with out needing a pattern – that way I can knit anywhere. So I am eliminating the asymmetric shape and going for a traditional triangular shawl with stripes. Simple and classic.
I purchased this sock yarn at Stitches East from String Theory.
String Theory Hand Dyed Yarn in Straw and Skerry.
Haiti sounds so exciting! Where in Haiti are you going? I have some cousins serving in a hosptial there and I can’t wait to visit someday. Safe travels!
Same hospital :)
Thanks!
Oh please give them my love! I miss them all so much!
Looking like my house and I only have to pack for 1! Do you share the Starbuck’s?
Absolutely with you!
Safe travels and happy knitting. What are you doing in Haiti?
Going with a work team to a hospital in Bonne Fin.
Thanks!
Have fun doing dental work, Katie! Who would have ever thought?
Have a great trip. We’re planning to go to Haiti at the end of Feb. You’ll have to let me know how it is. Josh has been there twice and said I’m going with next time. Safe travels!
Molly,
It was truly one of the best experiences of my life! I think you will feel the same. I hope all goes well for you in Feb. I wish we were going together :)
