Kevin and I arrived home from Haiti one day late after being battered by Hurricane Sandy. We are so thankful to have had wonderful trip and to be home safe. I have three favorite photos to share with you, before I make sure we are ready for round two of this storm.
During a break in the storm we took a walk through the mountains.
This little boy captured my heart.
We were delayed leaving the town of Bonne Fin in the southern mountains because the river bed filled and a large ravine was too dangerous to cross. After a day to let the water recede, and a lot of work from some heavy machinery we were able to cross with Land Rovers and prayer. Right before we crossed the water, the skies opened up into this beautiful sunset. It helped to calm my nerves. We made it across safe, we have so much to be thankful for.
We are so, so glad to have you home. Your boys were an absolute joy to have at our house last week. We are missing them, and our kids say they wish it lasted longer. I’m sure your boys are glad to have Mom and Dad home safely. (Those pictures are outstanding.)

I used to spend my time going to so many knitting blogs, but now I just come to yours because my interests are changing. I’m adopting a little boy from Haiti and so now I go to adoption blogs. But I was so happy to hear that you were in Haiti and glad to hear that you made it through the storm. Your pictures are beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
I wish you all the best with your adoption. We did visit an orphanage in Cayes. I understand how you leave a part of your heart in Haiti when you leave.
What an amazing experience you must have had even though nerve wrecking. What type of work were you doing while in Haiti?
I went with a dental and construction team to Bonne Finn. We were able to get a lot of work done despite the storm!
