Bloomsbury. A beautiful pattern by Svetlana Volkova. Knit in Malabrigo sock held double. When I saw this pattern I was hooked. The top down construction is brilliant. I highly recommend this knit. I am wishing and hoping to have this complete by Saturday.
So, I never sent out our Christmas card. Everyday I tell myself that I have to send it out today. I still have not – my printer jammed all the envelopes were printed incorrectly. So I am posting my Christmas card to all of you today, my guilt will be appeased and I can stop bothering myself over it. Have the best year ever!
My Squishy love Cowl is complete. I knit the largest child size, which fits perfect. I did add additional rows for length. The cowl can be worn around your shoulders or bunched around your neck. Quick, quick rewarding knit.
So…the whole idea of not starting new projects, but finishing old, of two days ago – failed already.
This cute little Squishy Love cowl was an irresistable quick project. I gave up to temptation and cast on yesterday. My friend Marcy knit this for a little cutie, and once I saw it I knew I had the perfect stash yarn for the project! I have 3 skeins of The Fibre company Road to China Light (in Lapis color way), the yarn is pure luxury, plush and soft. I am knitting it a bit larger so I can wear it myself.
I love starting new projects, in all areas of my life – not just knitting. Finishing feels even better, and this year I hope to finish so many things. Instead of new resolutions I am setting goals to complete old projects.
More importantly, I hope this year is filled with happiness, love and all the good things of life for all of you!
I am enjoying the festivities of this beautiful season. Kevin and I spent a few days in NYC with my siblings and parents this past weekend, Ill be sharing some photos of that soon. It is a fun place to be with all of the hustle and bustle, lights and shopping.
‘Tis the season for giving and cooking. This easy and yummy recipe is a favorite to bring to all of our holiday gatherings. You can embellish with different toppings and be creative with combinations!
I found this recipe on Cooks.com – I made some modifications of my own, my boys like peanut M&M’s much better than pecans. I also drizzled with white chocolate for added calories :)

Our thoughts, prayers and sympathy have been with the parents, teachers, children and families of the Newtown, CT community. May God bless and be near each family and loved one. As Christmas approaches let’s remember what is important in life, those we love and the many blessings of God.
I started this Very Pretty Lace Scarf last week from the book More Last Minute Knitted Gifts. Knit in Malabrigo sock yarn, Marte. I am hoping to finish by Christmas. It is a very fast and easy pattern to memorize. The book is also one of my favorites and would also make a great Christmas gift.
It’s the last day for out Winter Hat knit along! The projects are beautiful, and many of you completed more than one hat! Upload your final photos today and we will post them all tomorrow!
I completed Rosebud by Jared Flood this weekend, I am very happy with the result. Lately, Ryan is growing at a very rapid rate! I really wanted a photo before he is taller than I am. My 10 year old is becoming a young man. I love my boys and I am so thankful for them all. Sometimes I need to take a step back and try to remember how great they really are, even though they are non-stop action and keep me running around like a mad-lady, I wouldn’t want it any other way!
My Stripe Study is complete. I brought this with me on my October trip to Haiti and knit on the airplane, it kept me busy while traveling. I modified the stripes, and just did a triangle shape. I am very happy with the size and String Theory yarn I used.
I am currently knitting my hats for our knit along – join in the fun!
I am knitting Rosebud by Jared Flood. Cruising right along…. I do not like the cable that is in the original hat, so I just made 2 smaller cables which is not as chunky. I have been picking out some other patterns and I hope to finish another hat by Monday! How are yours coming? There is plenty of time to begin! Send us your updates.
You can also check out some of my options for the next hat on my Ravelry favorites page.
