Since so many of you agree, we will start our Winter hat knit along on Monday! We are so excited to start another knit along, and this time we are going to be aggressive with our deadlines. Kara finished 2 hats in one week, and she works full+ time, so we can do it too!
I had Kevin take some finished photos this morning of Rosamund. It is by far my favorite knitted garment to date. I used Malabrigo sock yarn and held 2 together, in order to get the correct gauge. The Persia color of this yarn is stunning. When I was just beginning knitting I attempted this sweater. I failed so many times at the cables that I gave up in despair. This time I admit, I had to start over after knitting about 6 inches. It is super easy to mix up the cable direction on the collar. Adding stitch markers between each cable helped immensely. The pattern is completely reversible, although on the stockinette side the cables do not “pop” as much! I highly recommend this fast, rewarding knit!
I chose to knit my sleeves 3/4 length. The short are cute with a shirt underneath, but I had plenty of yarn and decided to go for the added length. I think I will wear it a lot more than short sleeves.
I found that I am a big fan of knit-alongs, I completed 2 sweaters and started a third. I think that we should start another quick one before Christmas! We thought of a hat knit- along. What do you think?

“Great comment idea! I keep a daily gratitude journal of five things that I’m grateful for each day and it really helps keep my mood up.
Today’s list of things I’m grateful for: 1. The many beautiful sunrises of late. 2. That it’s Friday! 3. That my job’s challenges have evened out to a manageable, but still stimulating, level. 4. That I have another month to finish knitting my grandmother’s birthday scarf. 5. That I have a loving husband to go home to after a long workday.”
I love your idea Katie, I’ve decided to start a gratitude journal on Thanksgiving Day. My goal is to write one sentence per day for a year. Thank you for the motivation and for all of your wonderful comments, we all have so much to be thankful for!
We have so much to do this week getting ready for family, friends and last minute knitting. I want to remember to relax and be thankful for all the wonderful blessings in my life at the same time.
I am almost finished with the second arm of Rosamund’s Cardigan. I have to admit I have another sweater cast on and going strong (pictured to the left…details later)
I hope to wear Rosamund’s cardigan on Thanksgiving day. How are your Knit-along sweaters coming along? Will you finish in time?
Remember to enter our Thanksgiving Starbucks Gift Card Giveaway, the comments are beautiful!
I need some help to get all my projects done before Thanksgiving. I have two sweaters and I am working on a imovie project of our trip to Haiti. I need some help from Starbucks. You too?

I love Fridays. I know, who doesn’t.
I found these great end tables at Homegoods. (price tag is still visable in photo large: $49. and small: $39. ) The swift and ball winder attach perfectly and I wont scratch my dining table now. I prefer a manual winder as opposed to the automatic one pictured, but mine broke.
She sent the sweetest note with some beautiful soaps made at her local farmers market in California! It made me realize how much we love “meeting” all of you. This blog has been a lot of fun for us, and we are so glad you are a part of that! Thank You!
If you are out and about this weekend there is a fiber festival at the Big E Fair Grounds in Springfield MA. Kara and I are cut off from yarn purchases, so we better stay away!
Have a wonderful weekend!
How are your sweaters coming? I have distraction problems on sweater # two, but I’m plugging along. I think Rosamunds Cardigan is going to be a favorite once complete, I need to get motivated so I can wear it for Thanksgiving! I love the Malabrigo sock yarn which I held 2 together for the correct gauge. Update your project photos today!
