Hello, Sunshine!

Posted on

This just might be my favorite time of year. I get so excited when the flower shops start carrying cold crop plants like pansies, peas, beets, onions and lettuce. I didn't wait very patiently this week for them to arrive, but I survived and eventually they did arrive. I will admit that a flower shop is equally as dangerous as a yarn shop for me.      Since I planted an entire flat of it, I will more than likely end up with more lettuce than I know what to do with. I am sure neighbors, friends and family won't complain when I share my abundance. Another good sign of spring is that a bird has started creating a nest in the wreath on my front door. I am so excited because it is hanging on the glass door, which means I have a perfect view right into the nest.  I'm eagerly waiting for Ms. bird to finish her nest, lay eggs, and baby birds to hatch! Maybe I should leave some bits of yarn outside to see if she adds them to her nest? You better believe I'll be sharing pictures if that happens. Enjoy your weekend!

A few posts back, you pointed out a video regarding the “magic knot.” I tried it tonight for the first time and it worked beautifully. Thanks so much, Kara, for passing that information along. It was a great tip!

I agree about Spring being a favorite time of year. The grass on the lawn is so green and the trees are budding and it just makes me feel so good. Now to get into the planting mood.

Wow! Won’t you be my neighbor?! These are gorgeous. I’m trying to get my neighborhood interested in a community garden as we all have small lawns, but a huge common area. This definitely motivates me to push that topic a bit more.
