It's a Wrap!
I may have just found the perfect summer knitting project! It's called Avana and it's a super simple wrap pattern by Annie Rowden. It's great for cooler summer mornings or summer evenings. And as much as we try, knitted accessories for summer can be tough to pull off. Scarves, even when made in Fingering or Lace weight yarns can still be too hot or too constricting around your neck. For me, shawls are better than scarves for summer but still too tight around the neck. This wrap doesn't constrict or make you feel stuffy because it's knit using sport weight yarn on a size 10.5 needle which makes it easy and breezy. Yesterday was about 70 degrees and cloudy and this was so comfortable, and clearly a lot cuter than throwing on a sweatshirt. Pattern: Avana Yarn: Nice & Knit Sport in 'Beach' Needles: Size US 10.5 and 8 [gallery type="rectangular" ids="7382,7383,7384,7390,7387,7386,7391,7392,7393"] It also pairs really well with a tank top, this is one I've sewed 4 of and I have a few more planned! The pattern is called Wiksten tank and can also be made in dress form. Google it, and you'll find some pretty awesome projects out there. It's extremely cool and comfortable on hot days too!
