Knit-along Rosamund

Posted on

I had Kevin take some finished photos this morning of Rosamund.  It is by far my favorite knitted garment to date.  I used Malabrigo sock yarn and held 2 together, in order to get the correct gauge.  The Persia color of this yarn is stunning. When I was just beginning knitting I attempted this sweater.  I failed so many times at the cables that I gave up in despair.  This time I admit, I had to start over after knitting about 6 inches.  It is super easy to mix up the cable direction on the collar.  Adding stitch markers between each cable helped immensely.  The pattern is completely reversible, although on the stockinette side the cables do not "pop" as much!  I highly recommend this fast, rewarding knit! I chose to knit my sleeves 3/4 length.  The short are cute with a shirt underneath, but I had plenty of yarn and decided to go for the added length.  I think I will wear it a lot more than short sleeves. I found that I am a big fan of knit-alongs, I completed 2 sweaters and started a third.  I think that we should start another quick one before Christmas!  We thought of a hat knit- along.  What do you think?

I would love a hat knit-along! Your sweater is just beautiful – those cables are so crisp and I love the neckline! (And that yarn color is so similar to the Tosh Vintage Mare I just used for a Terra!)

First, the sweater is fantastic. I LOVE it, as you know. Second, is that brown sweater underneath hand knit, too? Third, I’m in on a hat knit-a-long, for sure! I just finished my first hat last night and surprised Paul with it. So fun. Can’t wait to cast on another. (That little claspy leaf thing is cool, btw.)

What a gorgeous item, the color is exquisite, and the fit perfect!!! Even though it is mid Summer here in South Africa, I would love to take part in a hat KAL. Bring it on!! :)

I would love to be part of a Nice and Knit hat knit along…I was scared to take part in the sweater one, and it would help get some gifts done as well!

Count me in! Katie, that sweater looks so nice on you. In person it is even better than the pictures, although your photographer did a fine job ;-)

Your sweater is beautiful! The details are stunning. I would love to join a hat knit along! That would be the perfect motivation as holiday happenings tend to keep me from my knitting.

This is a stunning card with gorgeous yarn colour; I’d love to try the Rosamund for myself if I didn’t already half a dozen projects on the go!

I’m already in the midst of a hat knitting frenzy, so a KAL would be fabulous. It could just be an accessory KAL too, in case someone has too many hats (is there such a thing?).
