Pretty Camilla

[gallery type="square" link="none" ids="6704,6703,6698"] It's been a really busy summer, and I've been a little quieter here than I had hoped to be, sorry about that! It seems like that's how all of my goals for summer have gone -- unattained. But I am not complaining because it's been a really awesome summer. One to-do I managed to check off my list was to complete a sweater for the Very Shannon Summer Sweater Knit Along! I'm so glad I started (and finished) this project because I think it's a new favorite.  I say that about every finished projects, don't I? Whoops!

The Details

The pattern is very clearly written and an very enjoyable knit.  The pattern name is Camilla and it's written by Carrie Bostick Hoge.  There are also child and infant versions available that I think Brooklyn and Baby Stanley might need their own versions of this because it was so enjoyable that I would definitely make it again without hesitation! The really cool part is that it only took me 11 days to complete -- that's less than 2 weeks for a full sweater and I definitely didn't get a chance to work on it everyday.  The pattern calls for a size US 10.5 needle which I didn't have on hand so I opted for just a size 10. It also called for Aran weight yarn and we here at Nice & Knit haven't found the perfect Aran weight to hand-dye so I opted for our very own Worsted instead. I knit the size xsmall knowing that I knit loose and anytime I make a small I end up hating the fit.  I also knew that the garter stitch would stretch when blocking which would allow me to manipulate this to just the right size for me. Another thing I love about the garter stitch is that it is super squishy and stretchy which is going to mean I can wear this for awhile even as my belly gets bigger, and bigger, and bigger. :)

That’s so pretty! If I saw it in stores, I’d definitely buy it. Maybe just in a different color, this will not look as good on me as it does on you. x
